How to Flash Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (EDL Test Point Method)
This method is mainly used for dead phones or hard-bricked devices.
Step 1: Download Firmware
Download and extract the correct Fastboot ROM for your model (whyred).
Step 2: Open the Device
Remove the back panel carefully to access the motherboard.
Step 3: Enter EDL Mode
- Disconnect the battery
- Short the test points on the motherboard
- Connect USB cable to PC
- Reconnect the battery

Step 4: Check Device Manager
On your PC, open Device Manager.
You should see:
Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008
If this appears, the phone is successfully in EDL mode.
Step 5: Open Mi Flash Tool
Run Mi Flash Tool as Administrator.
Step 6: Load Firmware Folder
- Click “Select”
