How to Flash Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082 Firmware Using Odin

What You Need

• A Windows PC
• Odin tool (latest recommended)
• Samsung USB drivers
• The downloaded GT-I9082 firmware file
• A USB cable

Steps to Flash

1. Extract All Files

Unzip the firmware file. You’ll see a file with .tar.md5 extension.

2. Install Samsung USB Drivers

Install drivers so your PC can detect the phone.

3. Open Odin

Run Odin as administrator on your PC.

4. Boot the Phone into Download Mode

Turn off your phone.
Press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power.
Press Volume Up to continue.

5. Connect the Phone

Connect the device to the PC using a USB cable. Odin should show a blue or yellow box indicating detection.

6. Load Firmware

Click AP (or PDA in older Odin).
Select the .tar.md5 firmware file.

7. Check Odin Settings

Make sure only these are enabled:
• Auto Reboot
• F. Reset Time

Do not tick Re-Partition.

8. Start Flashing

Click Start.
Odin will begin writing the firmware.

9. Wait for PASS

When the flashing completes, you will see PASS in green.
The phone will reboot automatically.

Troubleshooting

1. Odin Not Detecting Device

• Try reinstalling Samsung USB drivers
• Use a different USB port or cable
• Enable USB debugging (if possible)

2. Stuck at Samsung Logo After Flash

• Boot into recovery mode
• Select Wipe data / factory reset
• Reboot the phone

3. Odin Fails or Shows FAIL

• Use a different Odin version
• Re-download the firmware (file may be corrupted)
• Make sure Re-Partition is not checked

4. Phone Rebooting Again and Again

A factory reset usually fixes this. If not, flash the firmware again.
